Enforcement Under CCPA

In the Summer of 2022, the California Attorney General announced a significant settlement under California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), in a matter involving Sephora. In the press release about the settlement, the California AG’s Office appeared to have expanded the definition of what is a “Sale of Data” under the CCPA, and also required a number of new technical measures, including use of the Global Privacy Control.
