WireWheel Selected as Finalist for 2019 RSA Conference Innovation Sandbox
Arlington, VA FEB 05, 2019 – WireWheel, a leading data privacy platform, today has been named one of 10 finalists for the RSA® Conference 2019 Innovation Sandbox Contest. On Monday, March 4, WireWheel will present its cybersecurity technology to a panel of industry veteran judges and a live audience in a three-minute quick-pitch and Q&A, competing for the coveted title of “Most Innovative Start Up” at RSA Conference 2019 in San Francisco. In the past five years alone, the contest’s top 10 finalists have collectively seen 14 acquisitions and have received over $2 billion in investments.
WireWheel provides data privacy and data protection as-a-service. The WireWheel Privacy and Data Protection Platform supports all phases of a global privacy management and compliance program, uniquely addressing requirements around data inventory and process mapping, collaboration, vendor risk management, and more. Critically, WireWheel enables privacy, security, technical and business teams to address privacy issues collaboratively from a single pane of glass, leveraging on-premise and cloud infrastructure to enable faster and more efficient discovery where possible.
“In just two years, our team has made tremendous strides simplifying data privacy and protection for organizations of all sizes,” said WireWheel CEO, Justin Antonipillai, who founded the company in late 2016, after leading the Economic and Statistics Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce under President Obama and leading the American negotiating team in reaching the landmark EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework with Europe.
“Companies are trying to build trust around personal information and data ethics, and WireWheel provides a platform to do just that. Privacy and security management is more important than ever, and not just because an ever-growing body of regulation says it is, but because customers are demanding it. WireWheel was created to allow organizations to turn privacy into a differentiator for their businesses, to do the right thing with personal information and to be transparent and proud about their approach.”
RSAC Innovation Sandbox Contest is the leading platform for entrepreneurial cybersecurity companies to launch their ground-breaking research and innovation in front of venture capitalists, industry experts, senior level business practitioners and thought leaders. The event gives startups visibility and validation that turn into rapid growth and increased funding year after year.
“Every year our expectations are blown out of the water by the ideas presented at the RSAC Innovation Sandbox Contest, and this year was no exception,” said Sandra Toms, Vice President and Curator of RSA Conference. “The cybersecurity industry needs the bold, bright and innovative ideas being developed by these start ups today more than ever. I applaud this year’s finalists on their amazing work and dedication to making our world more secure, and I’m looking forward to seeing the impact they’ll make at RSA Conference and beyond.”
